Most readers will know that BBMF Lancaster PA474 is due to undergo a ‘Major’ maintenance programme under contract with the Aircraft Restoration Company (ARCo) at Duxford, commencing this month and planned to take 18 months. The extensive work scheduled to be carried out on the 80-year-old Lancaster to keep her flying into the future was detailed for Club members in the RAF Memorial Flight Official Club 2025 Autumn Journal magazine.

On 29th October the Lancaster left Coningsby for Duxford, flown by Squadron Leader Paul ‘Ernie’ Wise with Flight Lieutenant Seb Davey and crew, and it is now resident in ARCo’s Stephenson hangar for its maintenance programme.

We plan to bring Club members exclusive regular updates on the progress of the Lancaster’s Major over the coming months. If you would like to receive updates and are not already a member you can join the Club here or renew your membership here.
