Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The RAF Memorial Flight Official Club wishes to express the shock and sadness felt by all its members at the announcement of the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen was a great supporter of the BBMF and we know that she very much enjoyed seeing the Flight’s flypasts over Buckingham Palace and on other occasions which she attended. In 2000 Her Majesty wrote the foreword for the BBMF Millennium brochure, in which she said:

“I continue to be thrilled by the sight and sound of these aircraft of such historical significance that continue to commemorate the achievements and self-sacrifice by all those who saw us through the darkest of days, many of whom gave their tomorrow so that we can enjoy our today. I wish the Flight every good fortune for this year and for many decades to come.”

Our sympathies are with the Royal Family and the nation as we mourn her passing.
