Change of command at the BBMF

Members of the RAF Memorial Flight Official Club will have seen in the recently published Autumn Journal the Farewell Message from the outgoing Officer Commanding (OC) BBMF and the introduction to the new OC BBMF with his message.
The handover of command of the BBMF is now complete and the new OC is Squadron Leader Mark ‘Disco’ Discombe AFC, who has already served with the Flight as a volunteer fighter pilot for four years to gain the necessary experience. He will be in command for the next three years.

The RAF Coningsby Station Commander and BBMF fighter pilot, Gp Capt Mike Baulkwill, presented Milli with the Sqn Ldr’s pennant that has flown from the flagpole outside the BBMF HQ at RAF Coningsby during Milli’s time in command of the Flight. Having served with the BBMF for the last seven years – four as a part-time volunteer and three as Officer Commanding – Squadron Leader Andy ‘Milli’ Millikin is moving back to flying the Eurofighter Typhoon at RAF Coningsby as a flight commander with No 41 Squadron, the Typhoon Test and Evaluation unit. He also intends to continue flying ‘warbirds’ privately.
